This Mother’s Day we included powerlifter Marisa Inda in our list of strongest moms, and just one day later she went to the gym and crushed a deadlift of 190 kilogram/419 pounds for a lifetime personal record. That’s over 3.6 times her competition weight.
This year, Inda is all about hitting PRs. In her Instagram post, where she shared her massive 419 pound deadlift, she wrote about how long of a journey it has been up until this point.
“Since 2017 Worlds I’ve been dealing with sciatica and haven’t PR’d dead’s at a meet since then. I’ve had to take steps back in training, check my ego and do meets where I did just enough to win. Trusting the process to remain as healthy as possible and be in the game for the long haul has been frustrating but worth it (it’s nice to be able to tie your shoe without pain). This old lady is still in the mix and I can’t wait to PR on the platform again.”
Last October at Raw Nationals, Inda finished in first place in the raw -52kg/114 pounds weight class squatting 144.9kg/319.6 pounds, bench pressing 97.9kg/216 pounds, deadlifting 172.5 kg/380.3 pounds for a total of 415.5 kg/916 pounds.
Inda actively shares impressive lifts on her Instagram page, one to note was last year when she squatted a huge 145kg double PR.
Inda first stepped into a gym when she was 17 years-old, and one thing is for sure, she’s learned over the years to fully trust the process. From all of her big feats over the years, like setting a world record at the 2017 Arnold Classic Grand Prix for total in the -52kg/114 pound class, among others, it seems like 2019 is going to be her year.
She’s focused, healthy, strong, and hitting a lifetime PR during training to kick off this week.
